Lots of snow stories tonight !!!

Only took me an hour to get to Bedford from Hitchin , took everyone else about 3 ! Soon as I realised the roads were getting blocked by crap drivers and snow , i turned to the backroads , now they were fun !! Single track roads most of them and no one dared use them ! . I stopped to tow a Honda Civic with a middle aged woman in it( Damn , why are they never 21 , blonde with 'eyes' like Jordans ! ?) where she had missed the bend and took a close look at the hedge. feels Great ! its like your King of the road. !

See what tommorow ( today brings ! )

Well done Mark. Loads of jams last night. Took my sister in law 1.5 hrs to do the 2 miles from Sundon to Streatley. Lorry jack-knifed across the road.
I went out later, about 9 and it was sheet ice on the roads that had been driven on. Much fun on the back roads.

Managed Hoddesdon (Herts) to Basingstoke in 2 hours, A10, M25, M3 in the middle of the rush hour, including the roadworks on the M25, in the new Toy. Only 1/2 hour longer than normal.

Virgin snow in the outside lane of a motorway in made for 4x4s!

According to a local radio presenter, people in 4x4s using lane 3 are irresponsible and just throw snow/slush all over everyone elses windscreens.
I had a drive round last night and there were loads of abandoned 3,5 and 7 series BMW's abandoned or making a complete horlicks of getting up the hills. I didn't gloat............much!

It only took me from 4pm untill 10:15 to get from Brackley to Hatfield thanks to the morons in MK who blocked all the roundabouts just so they moved into that space that was in front of them....Did laugh when a toyota pickup flew past us all on the centre reservation (green with envy wished i had shubert back on the road) Also the women who panicked at thought of it slipping under the wheels. At least i had my weight distrbution right on the truck with 2 ton on the back axle so climbing brick hill was fun even with a car transporter struggling to get up the hill...

I left at 3:15 from near kettering and the journey that usually takes 45 mins took 5 hours to get back home (between northampton and milton keynes) I blame the hold ups on the trucks trying to get up hills that they know they have no chance of doing, jacknifing and all that that kind of thing, there should be a law passed that when it starts to snow like that the trucks should stop until they can be dead certain they will have traction again, I turned to the back roads through wooton and quinton to get home, the old girl did me proud, she drove like it was an ordinary bit of dry road. Ifelt sorry for the poor souls in ordinary cars who were wondering when they would lose traction and have to stop and walk.
Although the surf is one of the most sluggish things on the road, it was one of the fastest on the open stretches the other night.

                  p.s. excuse my french.

Please lets keep it clean, putting comas etc in doesn't hide the word there are minors on here, thanks.

truck drivers do like to get home and see their family sometimes! and your surf would have trouble pulling 44 ton up the hill! so next time possibly think that the poor driver is doing just his job which is long hours and low pay!

i had the opposite problem... 5 am sliding forwards downhill on the A34 around the ridgeway(east illsley)... had no chance!
