Had to go out and play myself.................to go and rescue the wife who couldn't get the car up an icy hill doh!

12 miles 2.5 hours round the lanes, pulled 3 people up hills to get them out of the way before I got to Karen.

I get to slide the car all the way home while she goes mental in the Surf now she's got grip

I went out to play, despite Mrs Kitesurfs reservations and it was mostly fun. Pulled a couple of very nice female students out who had slid their Nova down a bank into a field. Guy in a Rangy pulled up and gave it the, "You will never do it with that thing, I've got studded snow tyres blah blah blah.........."
I just put it in low and let the truck creep back to take up the strain. Very little welly and up they came. Being as they were Students Union members I declined payment in money!
I say mostly fun. I got a bit too confident. I was flagged down and told that there were seven cars that had slid together on a 1:7 hill. I decided to chug down slowly to see if I could help. Got about 100yds down (1.5 mile hill) and it was sheet ice. Two tons of Surf nearly joined the heap. I just steered into the skid until I stuffed the truck into the bank. I reversed back up and waited for another guy in another rangy to pull the cavalier up from the back of the heap. Ages later nothing. Back down at snail pace and he was spinning like mad. It took a Surf/Rangy train to pull the bigger cars up. Me reversing, him forward. Job done.
Oh, and I forgot to throw the ****** snow chains in the back.
