  • Cartridge oil filters

Does anyone know of any fairly modern vehicles, (last 15 years or so), that
use the cartridge type oil filters instead of the spin on oil filters? Preferably
one I'm likely to find at a scr@pyard.

    Cheers.

If you are refering to the paper type oil filter that sits in a canister, then most BMW's have this type of oil filter.

Oil bypass filter. Just trying to see if I could find a suitable sized one
before I have to start creating my own canister.

Had a quick browse of the scr@pyards today, (BTW, anybody after a battery
mounted fuse block, bear down on the MK7 Escorts), , and it appears they
are a direct mount with the in and out ports through the block itself? Was
after the type with the banjo fittings if possible. Less modification.

no honestly, the ecotech corsa engine uses a paper element filter, the best bit is you take the top off and pull the filter out from the top.no getting your hands covered in gunk.

The sods won't let me split engine bits off Merc's or BMW's. I asked and failed.
So, trying another line of attack, air line filters. Does anyone know if anyone
over here makes/stocks anything like these?

                      Thanks again.

For someone who lost track of all the different versions of L.R, , does that
mean all the true mud wallowers, not these pokey Discovery things and the
                          packing crate lookalikes?

p.s: You wouldn't have a link with any pics, would you.

Found out which ones you meant. Series I, II and III. Still can't find a pic
of the housings, though. Do L.R garages tend to stock replacement housings
as a standard part, as there is a garage that specialises in L.R repairs just
                            down the road from me.
