Note: I have some rambler types trying open a byeway through my garden and on through my farm, splitting the whole thing in half. Seems the local council is abliged to try its best to open such ways if anyone can prove any access has been had in the past. Seems that the rambler types are using the maps from the 1760 enclosure act

Funny isn't it, the Ramblers say that because a lane has vehicular rights from year ago they can close it to vehicles because "this for a long time ago when there was a need for horse wagons to use it but it no longer counts"

Now they are using the same argument to open new footpaths.

On a serious note in your case, if there is a legal byeway there when you bought the property, then you should have known about it at the time.

And can we come and drive on it?
