  • When I'm cleaning windows

    Alright all,
What do you go for when you want to give your inside screens a good clean. I've tried a few products that claim to be smear free etc. Even using them very sparingly but I never seem to be able to get the windscreen really clear.

I just wondered what anyone else uses, do you go for the old vinegar and water, if so what ratio do you mix it approx? What cloths, paper towels, kitchen roll etc?

I would really like to master the art of keeping my windscreen clear so any tips would be appreciated if anyone can pass them on.

    Cheers

ps what are these smilies doing to this poor horse? Hey, leave the horse alone dudes!

Water with a spot of vinegar in it and good old fashioned elbow grease. No need for any of that fancy junk

Ok I'll try the meths / vinegar / newspaper route then. Hopefully it'll stop some of the glare on the back roads when I meet a lorry on a bend with full beam on!

              Thanks

I use a scrim, the cloth that window cleaners use. Not easy to get hold of but try a cleaning supplies company. Little drop of detergent/washing up liquid and smear free windows.

Isopropyl alcohol for the stubborn stuff followed by Servisol foam cleanser
for the finish, (and elbow grease).

I always polish off with newspaper - inside and out. It's amazing how much smearing and condensation that prevents.

You can get glass polishing paste and kits from some motorists shops, even Ebay. You'll need a Dremel or similar machine though.
