i'm going to be putting some 2 inch spring spacers on soon and rather than winding the front up was considering some of these http://www.toyotahilux.com/index.php...id=165&vid=929 does anyone have them and are they any good, do they have any advanatge over just winding original spec ones ?

Unless you are going to put a heavy bumper & winch on the front of your truck then I would just wind your bars up. unless your bars are already shagged.

If they are the same as the ones that come with the LA Supertrux lift kit, then they stiffen up the front end a lot. This enables much better cornering when fitted with stiffer rear springs, and shocks.

Remember the angles of your drive shafts though. More lift = more wear

they look like the sway away t/b which i have, i bought mine from explorer i think they were a little cheaper than that too if i remember right.

i would recomend them if you are changing your shocks from adjustable ones to non adjustable ones, as they do help in cornering, you dont get as much roll. if you want to lift the truck extra with these i would advise fitting a diff drop kit so your cv's dont get damaged!!

if you are keeping the adjustable shocks then just wind them up and keep ya shocks set on hard this will give a similar feal and ride.

That's a point. Can you get standard length uprated torsion bars?

Are these the ones Tony N fitted to 'the bullet'? If so, might be worth a word with him. He told me he wouldn't bother with them again.

yea thats right .i found them tight as hell to fit and ended up having to tap them in with a hammer but made sure they were lined up properly 1st tho.i wont bother on this one.

i hope the new owners of the 2.4 dont ever need to take them off for any reason cause i don't think they will come off easy.....

yea i got them with the complete 2" lift kit but the o/s spring has sagged so i am now waiting for a new spring to be delivered.
I may have a set of 2" lift springs going soon which will give about 1 1/2" of lift.Overall been on the surf about 7mths altogether

seems to be that the so called 2" springs don't last long so i have gone for the 20% milners and now need some spacers-although i'm starting to get paranoid that looking at the back of the truck the drivers side sits lower than the other !

i've never heard of the milners springs having problems.
with explorer springs roughtrax sell you'll probably find there was a bad batch made and they ended up over here and the few of us on here that have had the problems and got back to Barry about it has brought it to explorers attention and thats why the havent complained about exchanging them
