As a former Land Rover Series owner, I have never regretted changing to a Surf.
I have weekends with no fixing to do, I can drive home at night without panicking about the lights going out, and while the soft b*99ers put carpet in the back, a tarpaulin keeps it nearly as usable as my old 109".
Seriously, I'm using a 2nd Gen 3.0TD Auto and would laugh if anyone suggested going back to Land Rover, even a Defender (and I couldn't get a decent one of those for what I paid for the Surf).
