    The "clicks" are tiny, my guess would be about one click for every 5 degrees of turn. They are not the sort of click I would have expected, very quiet, almost that from winding up an old watch!

                              But don't they do teflon lined cables now for bicycles, how about transplanting one of those cables in there... and a sealed bearing set for the butterfly linkage...
