Originally posted by javarsWell two days on and all is well, no black smoke, super smooth, boost hardly drops between gear changes (auto), makes me think this is how it should have been all along, spesh with the intercooler.
I even find i have to lay off the throttle as it just wants to go, which was never heard of before, its even running a tad cooler...only a tad mind !
Totally agree with the above comments. Just done mine and been out for a blast, no smoke, better responce out of junctions and I found that I had to lift off the gas pedal once up to speed, and just 'tickle it' with my right foot!!
Excellent!
(Intercooler not fitted)
Good find Steve.

Just an eighth of a turn clockwise, put a tipex or similar mark on the screw head before you turn it with a corrosponding mark on the top of the pump for a reference point.
You'll need a 10mm socket on an extension bar to undo the locknut first.
The metal cap (thimble) covering the screw wouldn't pull off on mine so I had to wreck it off with pliers! Oh, and it's easier if you remove the air filter lid and convoluted tube for better access.

I reckon it was set for low emissions in exchange for reduced power.
Thats why the 2.4 was replaced by the 3.0.
