Erm, that was my input to their thread after I made the changes, most of the info I found was bits here and there rather than one thread, it seems a fairly un reported mod but it really does work.
I honestly think the car runs better not just quicker, give it a go....you can always adjust back to youre start point if youre not convinced. Maybe mine was always running down on power & now its just right........who knows ?
I had a pump rebuilt on a Transit engined series 111, that was really slow when I got it back, and that was a similar adjustment........perhaps my Surf had some pump work in the past.

It was more of a trawle thro really, I had a read and took what I needed, I also bypassed the little butterfly in the throttle body, but that didnt seem to make much difference. heres the Aus link

Well two days on and all is well, no black smoke, super smooth, boost hardly drops between gear changes (auto), makes me think this is how it should have been all along, spesh with the intercooler.
I even find i have to lay off the throttle as it just wants to go, which was never heard of before, its even running a tad cooler...only a tad mind !

    Be very carefull mate.

On my Military truck forum a lot of the guys turn up the fuel pumps to get more power. But they do this using a pyro at the turbo end. Something to do with EGT.

    Yes a 2.4.

Be careful though. With a diesel engine, more fuel = more heat = more stress on the cooling system.

Aaaah thats another thing, it was dark when I tried it but it was never an issue, to the point you wondered why it didnt.

This sounds interesting, mine's as sluggish as hell so this might be worth a tweak, (if i can find it) i suppose it's worth marking the original position so ya can put it back where it was if things dont work out,
