hi sancho i think the easiest way to get more power would be an exhaust sytem and a cold air intake system, followed by a cam change and a chipped efi unit, then some head polishing and gas flowing .
nice, but like i said before, they dont mention the amount of work you have to do to gain that sort of power figures.450 bhp from just slapping a turbo on just isnt realistic.a lot of other engine mods have to be taken into concideration.like cooling for a start and the fact that you must have to have one mother of an intercooler to cool the charge air down in the first place.so then that in itself leaves you with finding a place to put it.then theres the engine internals to consider to.depending on what sort of power you want to get out of your engine.in mild tune its not so bad, running a low boost wont have that much of a dentrimental effect on the engine internals.but running at high boost ,well thats another kettle of fish.dont let me put you off sancho,i think your on to a goood thing,if you decide to do it,but its a lot more involved than just slapping a turbo on.
If you're going the custom exhaust route, why not fit a pair of smallish turbo chargers, pushing air through a nice centre mount intercooler, and go v.v.fast????????? Lowish tech and they sap less power than a blo0dy massive supercharger.
Did you post any pics of your lift? Guess I'll get to see it on curry night anyway!
The leccy turbos are nonesense. As the Lexus forum said, it takes a lot of horses to produce the goods, and if I do a comparison with model engines (yes, tenuous I know) and say that a 400w motor is roughly equal to a .40 size glow, which may be around 1.5hp. This means that a conservative 50bhp from a proper supercharger requires somewhere around 20Kw of energy. Think inch diameter cables and atteries the size of houses!
They're for the Max Power boys and Corsas / Saxos.
TWIN TURBOS if you want them, Need to be small lets say from a Metro Turbo x 2 as they spool up quicker
Wouldn't that be a round robin situation, though? Smaller turbos for quicker
spoolup with reduced output, or larger turbo with more output but slightly
larger spoolup time.

lol. Don't worry, I haven't totally lost my mind. I was thinking more up towards 200bhp, a nice noise and the ability to add bits on as time goes by, not strapping a jet engine on the back and seeing what happens.
All in good time anyway, just wanted to get some ideas on how to go about it. I'll probably try to sort it out cosmetically myself and, if all goes to plan, just want a little bit of go to justify the show.

hehe, ive just read my post above.i must of had my pedantic head on that night.if all you want to do is a mild tune, then i would go for a load of bolt on goodies first,i.e exhaust,k/n air intake system, nos.that should give you more power for your money.
If you want a 'nice' noise, why don't you slap one of those chavvy doo dah's onto the end of your exhaust.?????
I believe that's called 'a bin'. Partly because everyone would think I'm a prick, which is kind of fair enough. Also because it looks cack and doesn't do anything.
The V6 makes quite a nice noise already. Louder and nastier would be good though. I'm not a big believer in show/noise without performance or performance without show/noise, so the two kind of go hand in hand for me.
