when i was a contractor on the railway going all over the country we were up at a station just outside london working at night and a couple of blokes carrying a gennie over the track and they were busy looking at a fried badger and they were'nt watching what they were doing and dropped the gennie on the running rail and third rail and god did it fly and went off with a nice bang too
I dream of Gennie

I am pleased that we usually worked with the current off. I have seen photographs of the mess caused when a contractor dropped a 6' set of aluminium steps across the the live and -ve rails. It virtually evapourated the ali. 450VDC and Kilo Amps. I am glad I am in an office now.
