I dunno if it can be done, but how about fitting the brakes from one of the larger/heavier Landcruisers?

This will not improve braking except for off road use to stop drums filling with mud .
I think the Landcruiser option maybe best but you would need to up the size of wheels to clear the calipers .Rick...Member of 1st Gen club. ONE LIFE ... GET ONE !!
