Cheers. Each time I start looking in the RS catalogue, without the exact part
in mind that I need, well, you know what it's like. Half an hour later, even less
idea which one to get. Too much of a selection can be as bad as not enough.
I think that everytime I pass the pick an' mix in Woolies!

You ever noticed, as well, with the like of Woolies and Wilko's, how
you always end up looking at irrelevant stuff and imagining what use you
could adapt it for on the Surf?

Or even poundstretcher...........remem ber my bonnet scoop?
I wonder what people think when they see a grown bloke with a contemplative
look on their face whilst holding a household implement?
I must admit that I did feel silly holding up a turkey roasting tin, upside down and squinting with one eye, trying to imagine it with the front cut off!

Makes you wonder if we'll ever get banned out of some of these stores
because they think we're a bit weird. The amount of times I've walked
past stuff, back peddled and started talking to myself whilst I try to imagine
a use for it is unbelievable. At least it's fun.

On about that roast tin, what type of difference has it made to the under
bonnet temps? Is it noticeably keeping it cooler?
Yup! Driven up to Apaches a couple of times and a lot of the journey was dual carriageway. If I kept at 80mph (pre scoop) the temp gauge would creep up to three quarters. Now at the same speed, with the scoop Facing forwards (without the intercooler inside) plus the vents the temp needle doesn't move.
So when moving the cool air goes in through the rad and out the vents, plus the scoop must be releasing the air pressure build up in the engine bay too by forcing it down and out under the truck.
Sitting in traffic the scoop releases a lot of heat too, especially with my locked fan spinnin' all the time.
Got to do a body lift before the intercooler can be fitted properly.
and I don't want to do the the lift untill I've got some 33"s and 10" wide rims.
