  • General whinge

Thought it would make a change from the usual Halfrauds t0ssers type
whinge. What is it about a combination of customers and still in nappies
supposed network/I.T engineers, that makes you want to blast them both
off the face of the earth? Between customers ignoring every bit of advice
you give them with regards what not to let these $$$$y engineers touch,
and the I.T crews inability to follow the most basic directions you give them
about what not to touch, they can manage to totally screw up everything.
The new I.T crew, (if you can call them that), are so busy installing the
blo0dy expensive and largely unnecessary kit they have sold the customer,
who is practically kissing their feet for giving them a shafting, that any legit
advice about don't let them touch this, you don't need that, and the fact
that they've wragged everything out, goes totally ignored.

Apologies for the totally off topic gripe, but what is it about people these
days that makes it so that if you are honest and helpful, and don't shaft
them just for the sake of what extra money you can make off them, why
are you the one to end up getting shafted?

Well f*&$ed off today. Maybe I ought to becoming a thieving cowboy.
Might get better thought of then.

It is times like this, though, when you honestly think, why do I bother.
You try your best, and what do you get. One minor smile point, though.
The 'engineer' has to go back onsite tomorrow to redirect smtp traffic
through their new router/firewall/tat. I'd love to see how he's going to
explain to the customer why they've had no e-mail for two days.
Doubt he'll be truthful and tell them that they've cocked up their primary
MX through not listening to a single word I've said.

No thanks. I went self employed to get away from the little Hitler type
managers. It just seems to be a case of going from one type of cr@p
            to another.

It's damned annoying though, ain't it. It's been one of those months where
I seem to be like a magnet for people winding me up, but this last one has
taken the biscuit. Put the icing on the cake, so to speak.

Hey, don't complain.. keeps us all in a job...

There is one guy who swears blind that the sun does truly shine out of his trousers... and everyone falls for it... Almost on his own he has kept me employed and earning very good money thank you very much for nigh on the last 15 years... Long may the numpties continue to fall for his Cr*p...

You could always become an "evangelist" for one of your specialities and start spouting your own brand ot Cr*p... in the hope that the new batch of manglers fall for that...

Check out Eileen Brown Blog @ MS... she is hte exchange evangelist... and its all she can do to talk about everything else... and Exchange in passing... now that is what I do call a job...

Neither. Numpty I.T engineers who have only just learnt to wipe their
@rse and have an ability for screwing everything up. Managers are just
                            something I avoid working for.

The boss bit, I ain't got a problem with. (Mind you, could always start
                            being a tw@t to myself, I suppose), . I.T engineers I don't have a
                            problem with. I do have a problem with the 'whizzkid@ I.T @rseholes,
however. Generally pretty straight out of wherever they trained, never
touched an actual network, and have an ability for screwing a perfectly
working network up by changing everything, (merely for the benefit of
flogging unnecessary equipment), instead of adding to and enhancing.
Adding one functionality is not an excuse for wragging everything out
and starting from scratch, unless everything is sh1te to start with.
