It's a large tub, but at least it's not affected by frost or age.
I presume it's available in a smaller size.

Much prefer it to the liquid wood glues from the bottle. Is it still the same 'keep
adding a dash of water until it goes creamy' mixing method?
Yup, then you have about 20 mins before it starts to 'go off '

I had that problem Richard, the next one up goes all the way down to the ground floor and supports the stairs, plus it's thinner than the new post, now there's a lip where they join, aint decieded what to do with that yet, got to do the bit on the landing which is awkward, i got to join a short piece of handrail at right angles to another bit, also to make it "look right" i need to get another newel and cut it lenght ways to butt up to the wall, £30 a post!!!
wonder if they'll refund me half if i take the other half backToo young to die and too old to give a toss

Ian, You can buy half newels for fixing to the wall on the landing, they're about £12.
To fix the short handrail to the post at right angles to the main rail, just drill through the post with a 6mm drill, counter bore the hole the size of the head of a 4" screw, so that the screw thread will protrude at least 2" into the end of the short rail, plus a dab of glue.
You could use some thin, decorative timber molding to 'disguise' the size difference long post.
