The activists always forget to mention interesting facts like that, don't
    they.

I know what you mean. Even the occasional one who disagrees with the rest
is only doing so because they have a different idea regarding how to back
scuttle people. Hardly ever watch telly these days due to the annoying
proliferation of this type of hogwash/brainwash. Even the news programmes
are biased as hell. I have an annoying knack of ignoring what people say and
listening to what they actually mean. The two are generally worlds apart,
which is why television these days is blo0dy annoying.

        Precisely-ish.

We are being drawn into every little war that Cousin Dubya feels like getting involved in.

We have sketchy (but hopeless) exit criteria from Iraq, but have no such thing for Afghanistan.

We are there for sketchy reasons and our chance of getting out quickly is zero. We will be there for a long time and it will cost us dearly in British blood and taxes. Uncle Tone knows this and is promising our forces (rightly so too) the earth in order to help them. He has to find the money for this somewhere, and he's busy dressing it up in Doomsday type language about the environment in the hope we'll swallow it.

Pull the lads out of Afghanistan (if not Iraq), stop rattling sabres at Iran, and save the money. Perhaps then he wont need to lie to us about being all cuddly and green because he patently isn't. It's just another lie to take more cash of working folk.

They always manage to find someone to agree with their opinion, don't they.

Normal working class people who generally just try to get through each day
with no hassle because they have bills to pay, mouths to feed and a roof to
keep over their heads do, as you mention, get labelled as trouble makers or
fanatics the first time they get truly annoyed enough to actually make their
point rather than merely acquiescing. A thousand years on, and we're still
practically suffering the same Barons and Serfs type scenarios of history.

Anyone who read that whole immigration thread that was going around last week probably knows that I probably fall into middle class, liberal tw@t category. I personally see no problem with immigrants (i've been burgled twice, had my car broken into three times and been stabbed once and it was always white, english people) and I think they should just tax more on fuel if they want people to drive cars with lower emissions...

            BUT

I just want to say that I read that article in the mail and it clearly came out of a horse's arse. When she said that thing about changing her car in case someone disapproved....what the fcuk was that all about?

            AND

Yes, they do just want the money to spend on bombing arabs. As I mentioned in the other thread, one of the reasons we keep getting so many refugees is because we keep starting wars in the places where they live.

Oh yeah, and Mr Surf, judging by the remarkably civil conduct of everyone on that immigration thread, you can say what you like as long as it's not illegal or a personal attack and I don't think anyone's going to mind.

Hi just thought id stick me twopenarth in, like others on here i dont watch tv or news programes, they seem to tell you what they want you to know ahd nowt else, from reading the other posts etc , its obvious were been shafted, yet again, by the government, and again we try to fight back head on, I might be wrong but a side swipe might be whats needed, if evryone got together and made RICHARD BRANSON aware of the profits hes missing out on, he could purchase a production plant and start producing his own VIRGIN GREEN FUELS, and why not, he's into everything else, we could then buy this instead of diesel, which in turn would either stuff the government or make them sit up and get on with doing it themselves, just a thought but it is quite late, what do you guys and girls think?

Wi thar accent tha could be misteken for a Barnsley bloake.

Theoretically, introducing a major financial player into the fray usually helps,
but the problem is still getting the Government to put their money where
there rather large mouth is and to actually commit their lip service to reality.
They would merely, with a ploy like that, have another fuel producer supplying
fuel which could be heavily taxed, regardless of it's environmental benefit.
Getting them to remove duty from truly ecologically friendly fuels is the main
point. A producer of that magnitude, however, would definitely have a good
starting basis for arguing the point.

How do you tell if olive oil is virgin. Are there any physical signs?
