As a guide, you can spray acrylic over cellulous, but NOT cellulous over acrylic, 'cos the the acrylic will react.

So to be safe, buy the acrylic.

what type of paint is hammerite - becuase i found when i painted over that with grey paint for my 4runner, that the grey paint bubbled up....

maybe hammerite is acrylic and 4runner paint is cellulose...

Dunno what Hammerite is, but I know only cellulous or Hammerite thiners cleans the brushes. I think Hammerite has some sort of etching agent or some other chemical in it to adhere to rust.

No idea what any of that means. Do not drink.

I bought a tin of blue smooth Hammerite yesterday from Poundland, the colour on the tin looks spot on for the Surf, I think I'll colour match my towbar.
Laugh!!! I nearly bought my own beer.

I've just checked my Toyota genuine spray cans and it says "contains acetone butyl acetate" so it's possibly not cellulose.
