  • Urgent Help Needed...

Please help guys, the rear interior light wont go out,and because of this i cantuse the remote to lock and alarm my car....any ideas???
I can manually lock it with the key,but the interior light stays on,so im scared in case the battery eventually goes flat....The daft thing about it,is ive got a guy coming to look at my car,as its for sale.....doesnt look good for me so far...

Please can any one give me some quick suggestions....????? Please

The switch on the fitting has a permanent "on" position (pulled back toward you) If that is ok drop the tailgate and operate the two catches with a screwdriver and that should prove if the switches are operating ok, it needs both catches operated to turn the light off.
Check that one of the catches on the door frame hasn't moved back causing that switch not to work.
Failing that the light also has an off position.
    Hope this helps.

On the sides of the tailgate when it's open, just use a screwdriver sideways and press it into the catches untill they click twice and the light should go off, if not its either switched to on or one of the catches is not operating correctly.

You will need to pull the release handle to open the catches before you can close the door again.

I think you've lost me now mate, as regards the battery going flat all I can suggest is to pull off the light cover and remove the bulb but it sounds as if it may be the alarm that is keeping the light on rather than the other way round.
