  • We broke the Bullet again!

Rear diff this time. But every cloud has a silver lining... as Big T has to get new gears anyway he might as well regear it for the 33's and bung my locker in at the same time....

Baby sister gets to donate hers as a temp fix.

      She will over the weekend!!

Its a bit of a bummer, I just towed a Surf back from Southampton, and had another to pickup from E. Sussex while I had the trailer today but its got to bad on the way home so the other truck will have to wait.

Didn't want to getstranded on the M25 with two busted Surfs if it finally gave up driving altogether!!

This is obviously a cunning method to get a brand new 2nd Gen in installments

Would it not pay to Bitbuggered sorted and use her for the towing (presuming the V8 will be more powerful than the Bullet.

Sounds to me like someone might have engineered this to get the locker fitted

Yeah, it got us home OK, but felt much worse when I got home, as if the ring gear in the diff was skipping teeth on the pinion

                        .

Yeah, if I don't we won't be able to use 4wd!!!

Incedentally, I pulled the rear prop and tried to use it as a front wheel drive car as I've done on many other trucks, but discovered that 3" of torsion bar lift means the CV's catch and leap around as it tries to pull the car along!!!

3" of torsion bar lift? I thought only 2" was possible? Is it too dark for spannering now?

Yep - we'll probably do the rear first and fit the locker, then drive it around a bit in 2WD to check its ok before doing the front one.

@The lovely Boyo - Its an ARB air locker I brought from US last year

@Gamedawn - you know me too well

Actually Baby Sister gets to keep her diff, Tony found a couple of spares in the shed
