    Orderd the fitting kit from halfords thay did not list my 93 2.4 surf so did it on the 4runner think the part code is1085 has anybody used the same and if so is it ok.Thanks

    Not done it, but a 93 Surf and a 93 4Runner are the same thing. In terms of the roof anyway.

      Fitted roof rack tonight front ok rear brackets kept catching on door so all taped up ready to go back and its back to the drawing board for me.

        I fitted a couple of rails, only cost me a few beans, works great.
        Now I fit a thule xpedition rack for travelling, and a ski rack for the winters in France.
        Keep it greasey so it'll go down easy...

              Yup ironfly they are.
              I didn't get the span bars I got a set of thule bars.
              I'm amazed at how solid they are. Although the stuff that came with the rails to fix them to the roof was $$$$. If I had used those I doubt it would have been so sturdy. So rather than their bizarre raw plug kinda idea, I bolted them through in a conventional way, and so far no leaks no wobble nothing, and I really do load it up when we go skiing and can even tell its there.
              The xpedition rack is great too comes off easy, and in 5 minutes you have a ski rack...
              Keep it greasey so it'll go down easy...
