      Just a thought - your rad cap not faulty/stuck, creating excessive pressure in the system?

        Nope. First thing I've been checking is that the expansion tank level is rising, and
        also that it's been sucked back in once cold. I might replace it just to be on the
        safe side, though. With the amount of times I take it off for draining/refilling, it's
        always possible it might not be working at its best.
