i have the blue springs, and im matching them with es9000's
ordering 3inch taller rear, 2 inch taller front.. is that what u went for mickey??
Unfortunately no, I didn't have the forsight(read vinces post on LC springs) so my shocks are standard length. Haven't been off road yet with the new springs on but the way I see it, if a wheel comes of the ground, it's all part of the fun ain't it!?????????????????????

yes your right m8... but it may cause undue stress on the new shocks!!!
but we will not know until its been tried and tested so lets see...
Have a hard time fitting them? Send em back and ask for standard.
And explorer have the +2" shocks normaly in stock. Just get the ones you buy in their lift kit. But....with LC coils you will only have 1.5" of down movement. Also if you let the rear axle go any further it hits the fuel tank...well a tie rod does and youll need a longer rear brake pipe fitting.
how much travel does a matching pair of springs/shocks give us????

You will have about the same amount (maybe 2" more) of axle articulation with the Landcruiser springs and Procomp dampers, as you would with the standard set up if you disconnect the anti rollbar, (which you would if you want axle articulation anyway.)
The downward travel of the axle is governed by the upper axle control arm and fuel tank clearance anyway. (circled in pic) If you want loads of axle articulation, or you do the Rubicon on a regular basis, then you need a dedicated off-road vehicle with a £500+ suspension set-up.

thanks for the reply vince!!
i understand your statment with the upper axle control arm etc and i will be removing the anti roll bar as well . I realy want to do this mod as i like the look of the rear end higher!! but the springs are a lot higher and have no where near as much give so are only allowing the shocks to run down a small amount even with +2" ones . all i want to do is eliminate any poss damage from doing the mod while also using for off and on road!!
i think the only way is to try and test and see how i like it! and how it performs..
Nothing yet. Still trying to decide what to do. I'm also still waiting on a set of coil spring compressors to turn up, so nothing going to happen until they're here.
I'll probably try the uprated springs to see what they're like. However as I'm going off-roading next weekend, and I haven't got any extended shocks yet I'll probably stick with the stock suspension until after that.
After next weekend, I'll try the uprated LC springs on the road for a while. I might cut them down a little to allow more wheel 'droop' on the dampers.
You're one biggest benefit will be from removing the sway bar. Spring wise,
theoretically, you will still obtain somewhat the same amount of movement
whichever springs you use, but your obtaining more ground clearance. Shocks
will still bottom out at roughly the same point.
I want to wind the front end up a bit too, would Roughtrax torsion bars give me more lift, or just stiffen the front up?
Unsure as to whether to just remove the front drive shafts, or fit manual hubs. Dont use it offroad that much - last time, a soft beach but only sank 3" or so and RWD powered it down the beach just fine.
I think it was Richard who replaced his torsion bars with the Roughtrax ones
and said that he probably wouldn't again. Can't remember exactly why.
yup i done mine at xmas they were tight as hell to slot in and the ride was a bit stiffer.I wouldnt bother again on a 2" lift, just crank the torsion bars up.it wasnt worth paying the extra out for them in my opinion
