  • air filter

have just cleaned the truck inside and out plus the engine, and have noticed
just off the filter lid where the hose fits is a hole ? neat and flush and a rubber inner, is this some kind of air bleed, I would of thought the more air to the turbo
the better, can anyone enlighten me.

That's where the Air temp Sensor should be. Have a look around and you should find it dangling loose somewhere.

This is a 2.4 pic but should look similar.

I discovered mine was out months after getting the truck, refitted it and was dissapointed to find no difference at all.
It did put a fault code up tho.
Laugh!!! I nearly bought my own beer.

Only if the vehicle has been driven in very dusty conditions or in a situation where water could get in. If you washed the engine down check the air filter and intake tubes for any signs of water entering.
