  • It never rains but it pours

How about this for bad luck.

Planned our summer run to Newquay last wednesday. Got up 5am for thwe long trip to Newquay in my campervan. Got as far as Taunton Dean services and the engine siezed.
Ih well its an old engine and it was hot so not to ruin the rest of the holiday got flat bedded back to birmingham and chucked all the gear in the surf.

Set out at 4pm and got just past last junction of the M5 when......

temp gauge started to creep up. Pulled over and steam started pouring from under the bonnet.

RAC where called and diagnosed a blown head gasket.

    Flat bedded back to brum.

Now I am really in the sh/te.

I am pretty sure this is a cracked head as its a 2.4litre.

As i finally got home at 3am the RAC will flat me to a garage of choice.

So if any one can recommend a garage in the west mids that can deal with the Surf I would be really grateful.

Also one of the rad pipes had blown and in an attempt to fix it the RAC bloke broke a sensor off what looks like a manifold.

Any help both financial or better still good advise on fixing the surf would be really appreciated.
    Tequilla - breakfast of heros.

I agree with Bushwacker. I live in in Worcestershire, and took my 2.4 to Stevo...better to get someone who knows what they are doing.
Keep it greasey so it'll go down easy...
