110V 240V Help

Hi, Just cleand out my dads sheds, (full of tools ect.)
I came across a 110V 4 way splitter cable, but on the end of the cable is a 240V household plug. That dont seem right.
But when i plug my 110V saw in & plug the splitter cable into the 240V wall socket it works. Is this ok or do i need to get 110V plug on & plug it into a transformer.

Definately not ok,
It might work but probably not for long.
What colour are the plugs ?

I'm with Vince on betting they're blue. Blue is 240v, yellow is 110v (in theory).

You need a transformer to knock the voltage down for a 110v drill. Did your drill suddenly seem a lot livelier with that extra juice going into it?

Yea My dad was a carravaner but its ayellow splitter cable with 4 yellow plugs on it.

Have you also found a load of 240v appliances / tools with yellow plugs on? Maybe he just wanted an IP44 rated 240v splitter and happened to have a load of 110v plugs and sockets kicking around. Obviously, they work exactly the same as 240v, they're just yellow.

Don't plug a 110V unit into that, you will fry it. He probably used it as an
easy way of making a multi point extension.
