  • axle breathers

Just picked the surf up from the garage where it was in for some minor jobs.
I had been chatting to the mechanic about breathers for wading & he offered to fit some (for the price of the pipe) while it was on the lift.
I snapped his hand off....but when I went back he said he had been able to fit a couple but because of access/clearance there was some he couldn,t do. Apparently the sump is about 1" above the one at the front & he reckoned it would be physically impossible unless you could fit some sort of elbow before joining the pipe.
I did a search because I know Tony's mentioned these breathers before but I couldn't find the thread ?????

You can put a 90 deg elbow if clearance is tight withuot worrying. I did both of mine like that anyway, to keep a low profile along the diff and looks neat. Push fit air connections are good.
