the handbrake's in the proper place in a 3rd... so room for your knee with it on!

don't need to bugga about with the back window to open the tailgate

dash not from a 1980s van

    proper steering rack

    easier to change disks!!

no need to dismantle the ENTIRE dash for stereo
nee nar nee nar, i'm a fire engine!

Unless I keep seeing weird examples, everything below crotch height
on the outside of the vehicle.

mines only got arch extensions (like the 2nd gen)
and the bottom section of the front bumper is a flexible plastic.

no bullbar thing or rear spoiler.

the bumpers are steel (and heavy!!)... there's getting less car below crotch height on mine though!

The truth is that the 3rd gen has a 4x4 system that is light years in advance of the 2nd gen. As the reason for owning one of these vehicles has supposed to be for its 4x4 abillity then we must draw the conclusion that the 3 is a better vehicle than the 2.

The plactic trim actually looks rather nice and won't rot like the bumpers on the 2.

                Oh we have started now.......
I used to have a surf me!

i worry about how much mud is holding water behind the trims though!

Dont disagree, 3rd gen engineering in a 2nd gen body would be the ideal,
Although i wont be the one doing it.

                        door?
