There is a nice spot on the curragh, out of the way of the rangers and MP's. It is near the curragh golf club. Some of ye might have seen the pics I posted of Joey(UKMyres) trying to get up an old army embankment, well thats the place.
Plus there is the army 4x4 training ground near donnelly's hollow, but we might be run from there. some serious driving there though.
Anyone know anywhere good in the Wicklow mountains?

Is that the place near the mini golf course on the way to kilcullen. Cause that looks like fun. Got a number for an offroading place in meath. Gonna give him a call tomorrow, but think they may only use their own vehicles and if so charge €150 for two hours. Feck that!

I spoke to some people about the 4x4 training area on the curragh and it seems that it is not watched so much on Saturday afternoon and Sunday is very quite. The best time either way is in the evening. So if that suits then thats where we should go.
How about if we go Sunday afternoon/evening so Maurice can join us??

So lets see what we can do........

Lads only a suggestion:
Next Sunday Oct 12th the Irish 4x4 Off Road Championship - 2nd Round (of 9 rounds) is on. I found this out on http://www.ifwdc.com/events/recentevents.html (Irish Four Wheel Drive Club). Looks like it'd be worth going to. I'm waiting for a reply from them coz it doesnt say where (could be Cork). Anyway if its anywhere half near I'll be going to check it out. Could be a good way of getting this meet done...
update: they got back to me today and he thinks its in dualla near cashel and will let me know more when he knows for sure, still only a thought thoughLast edited by JimL; 8 October 2003, 21:30.

for anyone interested in round 2 of the irish off roading championship heres more info:
Hi Jim.
The event is definitely at the Cashel site.
Head down the N8 (Dublin - Cork road) and a few miles short of Cashel
you'll see 'Dualla' signposted off to the left. There SHOULD be
arrows/signs for the 4x4 too, but don't bet your life on it :-)
Follow the trail of leaked oil and broken parts to the site.
Look for Mervyn Colton when you get there. He's the Motorsport Ireland
Steward for the event, but he's also Chairman of IFWDC. He'll be driving
a black Land Rover 110 crewcab pick-up.
Best regards,
Ivor Clegg (secretary
