Toyota have quoted £190inc to change the belt and my local garage has quoted £150. Am I better off going with Toyota for the sake of £40?
Hmmm...
they're all trained mechanics! shouldn't make a difference!
the cam belt is guaranteed throught the manufacturer so unless it's down to bad fitting then you're covered.

Go with who you know, is your local garage got a good reputation if so then go for them or same for the dealer.
Just because they are a main dealer people seem to think they are going to get first class service from super trained dealer mechanics, not so.
Had a mate who worked at a dealership and left he couldn't believe the monkies that were supposed to be mechanics there.
So go with a garage that someone can reccomend from personal experience.
Say not always what you know, but always know what you say.
