Well let's make things less safe then.
No airbags, no ABS, less comfotable suspension. Oh, and make it illegal to not wear a seatbelt or to use a mobile phone. Oh, hang on ...
Basically, 4x4s have become attractive (as most fashions are) to the selfish and inconsiderate. They will move on in a few years. In the meantime, did they find a correlation between safety and "proper", or even older, 4x4s?
Modern cars feel too safe in general anyway.
Did anyone see the BBC report on road accidents and how the figures are not going down, according to hospital admissions? Read it this morning but can't find the lnk on the website now.Comment

They were discussing 4x4 on BBC3CR this morning. Just for a change the presenter was asking what all the fuss is about and cited a tree hugging friend who complains about his people carrier but thinks nothing of flying to India on business at 1.6Kg per Km on a Boing 747.Last edited by kitesurf_phil; 23 June 2006, 22:22.It's only a hobby!Comment

yeah but they are talking about Sloan Rangers in brand new Range Rover Sports to whom off roading is parking on a grass verge outside a school.
