  • 3rd gen wheels on a 2nd gen?

Hi All - Is anyone running 3rd gen standard wheels on a 2nd gen? If so, did they go straight on without any difficulties?

    Cheers

I know this has been covered before and I believe the answer is yes , as the 3rd gen are 16" rims .

thanks guys - I thought they would, I'm already running 16's but just wanted to be sure there was no offset problem etc.

Tim - yes, you are right. It's the potential next stage of solving the vibration problem I have with the SDV still. It seems as though it might be suffering from a problem to do with one or more wheels being out of balance - even though I have had them done twice. It's possibly even a problem with one of the rims. I've either got to get a complete new set to try and see if it disappears, or try gettting the current ones set up on a specialist machine of which there aren't many in the UK (though I have found one close by).

This web page is well worth reading as it covers exactly the problem I think my truck has:

Tony has already changed the prop UJ's and rear bearings so these have been ruled out and the steering idler arm is new.

thanks for the offer I'll see what happens over the next week or so with the balancing and maybe this set, but I may well take you up on that offer!
