Track rod end adjustment

Hi I will be having a go at adjusting the tracking on my Surf. Using a trakrite machine I have had for years. Looking at the setup it is not like I have seen before ie. undo locknut adjust end tighten back up.
Am I correct in assuming you undo the two clamps on the tube which connects the two track rod ends together,then turn the tube clockwise to toe in, anticlockwise to toe out? If so what is used to turn the connecting tube as there doesn't seem to be any flats on it?

i started off with mole-grip wrench
but then got the Stilson wrenchs out! - they worked much better

The tubes tend to get rusted on and are a bugger to shift. Don't try heating them (or at least letting it show) as that weakens them and is an MOT failure. New tubes are about £7.50 plus VAT from your Toyota dealer. Fairly sure Milners & Roughtrax don't do the tubes.
