Im thinking of getting an old Hilux surf. Here are its details.
1990 Toyota Hi Lux Surf SSR Ltd 4WD
manual 5 speed gearbox
2L petrol
excellent condition
fully loaded
A/C ,
power steering,
5x electric windows and mirrors,
full towpack,
cd player,
chrome wheels
stainless exhaust,
side steps,
roof rack,
cycle rack,
T&T
only 80000miles

What sort of price should I be looking to pay for this? Its part of a package, with a few other things, so im trying to work out if its worth it. This is just a bonus as its something I have wanted for a while.

Also what sort of running costs am I looking at with one of these?
Insurance bracket?

Any other thoughts you have on this machine

Hi, personally speaking I wouldn,t touch a petrol model I'd always go dieslel.
Insurance wise I went direct line at £300.00 fully comp (will need immobilizer).
Most of that spec is pretty standard stuff, with a few gadgets thrown in.
It will depend on what you're planning to use it for, and as far as valuation goes I could'nt tell you but check the for sales on this forum to get an idea.
Fuel consumption; I would think about 20 miles/gallon.

Never seen a 2lt petrol 2nd gen Surf. I guessing that would be slowwww, my 1st gen has that motor, weighs a lot less than a 2nd gen, and is still slow.......

A guy near me has a 2nd gen petrol 2.0 . Its one Surf I am quicker then

This sounds like an imported Surf with a replacement pick-up engine fitted!
