    Evening chaps.

I've been looking out for a while and the newest Surf's for sale seem to be
    1997 approx max.
Has anyone seen any newer ones being brought into the country? I'd like
to upgrade but - I'd like something at least 5-6 years new.
(ok I dont want something built last century)

any ideas of whats about & costs??

    cheers Marc

Mr Surf had a 98' for sale!!

They go right up this current year, but not many get imported due to SVA issues.

Mr Surf... hmmm sounds like a top chap... (choke)
Well I could live with a 97 I guess but it would have to have low kms on it.
      What sort of Sva issues??

      cheers and beers

as in, any model under 10 years old have to have an SVA test... can be diffcult to get hold of model reports for newer models too.

Most places that do the model reports only have them upto 1997.

Mines a late Sept 98. Got SVA OK but it took ages to get it sorted. From Oct 98 you have to have immobiliser/alarm on as standard for SVA, so if you buy one that is Oct 98 or later make sure you have alarm etc. before SVA test, I think that you need an ESVA whatever that is(!) instead of SVA.

            Hope this helps.

Hate to sound negative, but if youre so hung up on shininess and newness why not go for a UK spec Prado and forget the Surf. Same chassis I beleive and not a bad set of wheels in my humble opinion.
