Occaisional/ltd miles use insurance for my Surf SSR-X

Had a look/search around, but can't see what I'm looking for.

I want a limited miles policy (like a classic car policy) for my Hilux Surf SSR-X 2.4TD (that I've just bought), but I don't know who I can take this policy out with. I tried roadsure.com, who I had my Frontera with, but they wouldn't do it because it isn't a model in their 'system'. They were cheap and cheerful for that (and my Lada Niva before that).
I'm a bit worried that I've made a mistake buying this, in that its only wanted for occaisional use, and I have other cars that I have insured normally (and on a joint policy with direct line that was a bargain [89 Merc 300SE for £250]). What I'm saying is that I don't want/need an everyday policy, and I don't want to pay a fortune for it having on a full everyday policy by not having any 'no claims' (assuming I can even get it insured).
Do Footman James have these cars on their 'system'. I've used them before on a couple of my classics. Seemed OK except for asking for photos every other year.

Any suggestions??

I use Lifesure - I have a 3.0 and a Peugeot 306 2.0HDI and they insure both for me and the missus with a mirrored NCB for just under £500.....

Not sure if they do limited miles but Surf's are definately in their system..

footman james do insure surfs. if you are in the vintage motorcycle club they do a discount, maybe they do for car clubs too..

it works it out when you tell them the mileage as part of the questions.

I don't do more than 4000 miles a year in mine, so thats what I told Tesco insurance and I only pay £193 fully comp with the missus as a named driver.

First things first, Welcome to the mad house friend.

I am with Footman James so the vehicle is in the system. I used to get discount for being in the VJMC for my bikes but have no idea if you will get a limited use policy for the surf. ASK them, they do insure them.

Thanks already. A number of replies. Always nice to join an active group like this. Was on the Lada group for some time. They were great too.
As to being in a car club. I'm treasurer of our local club (North West Casual Classics [NWCC]) and currently Chairman of the Ro80 Club GB.
I guess that they won't take that into account, so I may have to join some 4x4 club or other. Any suggestions if I get asked?.
Background
I've rather pushed the boat out (or rather pulled it [read on]) buying the Surf. I only really need a 4x4 to pull my boat to the sea when we go to the caravan (Anglesey). Before you ask, no its not going to get wet. I can launch the dinghy (its only a 3.6m inflatable) by hand off the trailer using the launching wheels, its the 300 yards of sand (and the last 20 as you get to the concrete ramp of really soft sand) that are the killer when the tide comes out.
My Lada was .... well my Lada. The Frontera (Lada replacement) was only 1/2 owned, and the other guy wants out of that now, so its ebay bound again.
We left that by the van when we used it during last summer, since driving it any distance had inherent reliability risks
Never missing the opportunity to get another vehicle for stock (joke from the guys at work since I tend to leave cars on our works carpark), and wifey being in a good mood, I was through the autotrader and off to buy the first one we looked at. The idea being that we could travel back and too in it rather than just leave it there. This helps in that it is really a 'spare' vehicle, in the event of another being off the road.

End of digression.

I've got to say that I was a little shocked when I was turned down by roadsure.com. They listed 4-runners, but not the Surf. Aren't they the same model?

Just been on the directline site.
Hey they got the car from the reg No., which was looking good.
For 3000 miles per annum, they quote £219. That sounds OK?

Maybe I'll be coughing up the rest of the money and getting this car then after all (was only risking the £100 deposit so far).

Thought it was too good a deal.
Got on to direct line today and was told that in fact it would be £389 not the £220 that the internet threw up.
Got onto Footman James. Got a 3000 mile general use policy for £329. I didn't try any further.
So I've paid up. Paperwork will arrive on Thursday. Guess I can pick the car up Saturday and get my tow bar installed.
