Help!!!!!

On my way home last night, My truck got sars whilst passing another jap truck(spit! spit!) The radio Turned it's self off and would not come back on. Then the lights seemed to be lacking their usual sparkle, The wipers moved like an arthritic tortoise, and amoungst all this, there was no indication of a charging fault, then this morning at around 11.35am my truck passed away We managed to resuscitate her again using a cardio thingy mi bob (jump start) . I took the truck for a trip, left everything switched off and I will try again in a couple of hours. In the mean time Has enyone else contracted this form of cars sars an' if so, Is there a vaccine available?

sounds like dead batterytitus to me. could be slipping belt fever or mortimum cell in battreus

Check earthing straps theres about three of them, usually if its an alternator problem it brings all the lights up on the dash. Get the batteries checked out.

I had atrial fribulation, on drugs (drip in the jugular an everything) the lot, spent a week in hotpital, the works...
but mi truck still packed up an' I'm no wiser

Well look at this way



You were doing fine.
The electricity stopped powering things.
In the end it wouldn't even power the engine.

You stopped.
After a while it all started working again.

Why?

Cos a battery that is not being charged will lose it's charge.
A battery that is left to recover overnight will actually recharge itself enough to crank an engine.

So, you either have a battery that is past its sell-by date
or
A battery that isn't being charged
but
The alternator light didn't come on
So
My guess would be a duff battery
or
A dead rectifier, which would destroy the battery with overcharging anyway.

The good news is that there are garages queuing up for this sort of work on New Years Day (If you are in the RAC etc, drive a few miles, park up and call em out. They will check the charging circuit, and even sell you a new battery!)
