  • $$$$ing Lazy Couriers.

I placed an order, for a filter kit with Milners, on 25 April. I rang them to chase it up and Julia on the other end of the phone could not have been more helpful. She has just phoned back to say that the courier they use could not find our house, so they haven't even been able to put a card through the door. We are used to Taxi drivers and pizza delivery people not being able to find our house, but this same parcel delivery company has been to our house dozens of times in the last three years. In fact the guy that normally comes drinks in my local and either him or his wife drop it off. Apparently he is on holiday.
Oh, BTW, they have tried to phone me once and got no reply. So that's OK then?

I am not having a go at Milners, as I say they have been very helpful.

I am $$$$ing fuming now. I have been in contact with the courier and quoted the assignment No. They now say they cannot deliver the parcel and that I will have to collect from their depot in Harpenden, which is seven miles away. The person I spoke to said a card was put through the door on 28th of April. LIARS!
They also state that they have phoned the house on several occasions and got no reply. What do they expect people to do? Sit around all day for a week because they are expecting a parcel?

This country knows $$$$ all about service. I am $$$$ed off!

you should not have to do anything, if Milners value you as a customer they should sort it, you have paid for delivery to your address - provided a full post code has been given they (the carriers) are in breach of contract to Milners. Any additional costs should be born by them (Milners) and they in turn can claim it from the carriers who they have a contract with.
Dont bother with the carriers, you have no rights of redress against them, ask Milners what they intend to do about it. If they cant get the original carriers to deliver, they should send another order via a reliable one. perhaps Milners need to recognise that they are dealing with a forum member and we dont take no sh1t, (I happen to believe it is Milners fault and responsibillity - they chose to use these 'carriers') - being helpfull has not got you your paid for goods!!

Most delivery firms use GPS in there vans now. So if they have a post code....No excuse.

I got back to Milners, as suggested and Julia has just phoned back to say that they will deliver tomorrow. I have authorised them to place the parcel inside the green recycling bin, should they not be able to wit 30 seconds for me to reach the front door. I have also told Milners that I was surprised that they didn't leave the parcel, because on previous occasions we have found packages from them by the front door, in the wheelie bin and in the neighbours, which I am told that they are not supposed to do without prior authorisation.

Full marks to Milners for their customer service and a big raspberry to Inter***k.

                    Idiot Couriers

We use them all the time and they can be bad news, but one thing I have found is that unless you give instructions that they can leave it in greenhouse or other address etc they will not do it..eg a note on door gone out leave next door is not good enough. You need to tell the person sending it to you when you place your order.

Anyway glad its coming tommorow mate.

have ordered from millners twice now and complained to them about the couriers twice, so if they don't change couriers then they are to blame as far as i'm concerned. interlink are s.hit.

first time they came they rang bell and p.issed off in the time it took me to get down the stairs, and i run everywhere-habit since i was a kid, so they weren't left waiting around or anything.

so i ring the number on the card (which must have been written out before the $$$$ got to the door), and it took 11 minutes 16seconds (i timed it coz i'd rang twice already with no answer) to get through. they said would redeliver next day, i asked for time and he didn't know but would know by 10am next day if i rang (yeah right-another 10mins on phone) or i coulod collect from depot about 20 miles away!!!!

so like a mug rang back next morning (only 4mins to answer this time!!!) told would be between 11.30 and 12.00. so, at 2.30 bell rings and within the 15 footsteps from front room to door and opening the door, this w@nker was already on his heels and at the gate!!!! so i asked if he'd been the one from yesterday and he said yes so i flipped out big time and watched him sh.it. he deserved it.

anyway i won't be using milners anymore, but if they insist on using interlink then tough.

i've had no such problems with roughtrax though, so i'm sold on them now.
i swear, it was like that when i got here...

                        Re

My heart goes out to you mate!

In my business I have deliveries from Initial Citylink ( THE WORST COURIERS!) nearly every week and they are a shower of LIARS and IDIOTS!

I sometimes be pulling my hair out!

The best thing to do, and I know from experience, is to ignore what they say and direct your bitchin' straight to the company you purchased the goods from!

NOW, here's the crux of the matter, and the ULTIMATE SUPIDEST RULE EVER!!

YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO OPEN/CHECK THE GOODS UNTIL YOU SIGN FOR THEM!

                        THEY ARE THEN YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!

SO, IF GOODS ARE DAMAGED OR MISSING, TOUGH TITTIE!

My advice is, and I have this on good authority, is to clearly write in capitals beside your signature "NOT CHECKED!".

Apparently, if you don't you are not covered if the goods are damaged or missing!

I have had to send back literally 1,000's of £ worth of computers that were damaged by $$$$$$$$ drivers!

My mind boggles at the damage they cause!

                        Later!

                        Gary

Find this interesting reading, as postie who delivers parcels and packets for a living in the new forest. I've always been able to leave packets some where
safe and pop a note in the door to say where it is. Most rural posties I work with do the same and most of the time the customer is happy. After all if you've ordered some thing to be delivered then its because you want it. And if you're at work you might not be able to get to the office to pick it up till Saturday anyway. Mind you there's no pleasing every one as some people were put on this earth to complain . Think the other thing about postie's is that were on day work were as couriers are often on piece work ie more they do the more they earn. Stick with Royal Mail for all its faults its still the best. (well got to say that as I work for them ) All best John

they had a 'before 12 ' parcel for a slightly tense customer of mine yesterday. had a card through the door just before 9 when i got here, so i phoned them and they said he would be back. and he was! ( at half twelve, with half 8 on the paperwork...)
                            it's in me shed, mate.

We have no complaints about our regular Postie. He is a gent but he is heading for retirement age. The young prat that stands in for him when he is on holiday is a different matter all together. He is arrogant, rude and feels that he can jump over all the fences between gardens or leave the gates open, "Because this used to be an open plan estate, innit?" He is as thick as $$$$.
