  • Help!!!!

    Hi All

I was driving home after the School Run this morning. Then She just suddenly DIED?? Now I was driving with the LOW Fuel light on(it felt like as if I had run out of FUEL). Changed the Fuel Filter 1000KM's ago.Disconected the EGR 350KM's ago. Have been experimenting with 10liter SVO mix to a tank of diesel(x5).
Walked home and fetched some derv. After pumping filter it had instant pressure. I pulled line to injector pump off with a great spurt of diesel.Maybe I did not run out? I switched ignition on and Engine Check Light does not go off.

With this bit of info are the FUNDIES able to give me some form of Prognosis?
When I get her home I'll do the diagnosis thingy and note the flashes on this thread.

    Cheers
    Dev

If it just suddenly died, that usually points towards electrics check connections and fuses. fuel probs or out of juice you usually get coughing and spluttering first.

          Update

~I've got her home. Disconnected fuel lines from filter and cranked her over. No diesel has come from the fuel tank up the line to the filter? Where is the fuse for lift pump??

Andy I don't know much aboot that. It's a 2L-TE type engine. I've never heard a boost from an electric lift pump in the tank??

                Solved

Blew through line back to tank-All clear The Injector Pump was Vapour Locked. We eventually undid all injector unions and cranked the engine till nomore air bubbles was present. Tightened them up again and started her up. Could hear a dull idle till all air cleared the pump and filter. Off to Service Station to FILL her up.

                Thanks ALL for input.
