no more black smoke?

Has anyone seen the item for sale on ebay that is supposed to get rid of black smoke, increase power and increase mpg?
It's only £3.99 but does not say what it is.The feedback seems to be good, ANY CLUES???

Look for a post 'EGR' from last week. Every silver lining has a cloud.
It looks as though you may get less smoke more MPG and a bit more power, but you 'could' cook your cylinder head. Tried the cable tie mod for a couple of weeks and it worked fine. But having looked at the info both for and against have reconected my EGR. Just spent the weekend going up some very steep hills in the lakes I thought that the old temp guage was getting pretty high pretty quick so I undid the mod and all seemed better. Or am I just paranoid.

EGR blankning on all import diesels is common, the Japs have it for emmision control. I used to have a Pajero prior to the Surf and lots of people on their forum did the mod, I believe a ballbearing in the pipe was their favoured method.

I have never had a smoke problem with either so never felt inclined to bother.
