Was out with a mate today who needed my help looking at a 2nd gen surf. Was a nice looking black L plater with 60k on the clock. However when I was checking over the front of it, it was clear it had been in a serious smash. Drivers side front wheel to the bottom corner of the front wheel arch was a 3 finger gap. Passenger side was almost 5 fingers gap. Tyres were the same size. Advised to scarper from it. Anyone come across this kind of thing before?. Price was 4500. Next to it was a 3rd gen surf which had the same result at a fiver under 9 grand. There were some small differences in panel gaps, but we were talking of about 1.5mm either side. We both gave the dealer the raised eyebrow look as we walked.
