Please read this and help...calling all Surfers

Hi we are off round the world next friday and need your help !!!!

I seem to have a mouse under the bonnet, sounds like loose fan belt, so changed that,then tryed wd 40 still no better and is getting worse.

It happens on small throttle openings and virtually dissapears on larger throttle openings and never happens on tick over. Im worried it is the Fuel pump and that it will let us down in middle of kazakhstan or some other god forgiven land.
You can hear it in the cab but hardly at all when your heads under the bonnet.

Any suggestion would be gladly accepted. Also is ther a main Toyota dealer where i can get Surf spares.

Spray some WD40 behind the alternator pulley with engine running if you can.

Check your crankshaft pully, the hub can seperate and spin without driving the belts properly, this will lead to it not pumping coolant properly.

Or any of the alternator/air-con/idler/etc bearings.

Try it as you take each belt off individually, (obviously not for long with out the alternator belts). If it still does it with no v-belts on the engine its something else.

If you're going deeper check the cam belt tensioner.
