  • shock boots on procomps - who uses them/who doesnt ?

    As title

i was checking over the 4runner yesterday after last weeks offroading and found my front shock boots full of muddy water,

so will either drill exit holes for the water in the boots or remove them altogether
anyone else use the shocks without the boots and had problems?

I have Pro-comp's with their boots but I thought there was a split at the bottom to let any water out?

I shall have to get under mine and have a look! have to be tomorrow tho!

Had a look at mine Friday , and have not used my Runner since Bures when it broke down . Lifted one of the boots as it was not seated properly , and found mucky , muddy water running out . I may put something between the boot and shock at the bottom to help drain or remove boots as they keep slipping off the shocks .

run my pro comps naked so to speak, as the ranchos on my old truck actually started to rust under the shock boots in all the trapped debris. mind you one of them has develovped a small weep, not sure if thats bad luck or due to no boots. still prefer no boots though as i do feel that they trap more than they protect.
