Probably not been serviced properly . You need to find a better garage for your Surf . There was a bloke on here who said he was good , can't remember his name though .

Dont look good mate . Was the oil pick up blocked ?

She has been lifted another 4" today.... Tony took the engine out

        Done!

Whilst the engine is out, is it not a fantastic oppertunity to shove in a Landcruiser 4.2, or a nice big block Chevvy V8?

Come on Tony the old engine has had it, give the black bullet the thrust it needs, I can lay my hands on a 250hp 6ltr ford Sabre for you! With the suspension lift it may roll the BB over if you blip the throttle, but it would be Fun!
Ok nicely done, when we dry off we can go find the boat!

              Oh look, a funny man...........

Nah, the oil pickup looked fine, I haven't inspected the oil pump yet, but its not had great oil pressure of years now, but that would be explained by the wear in the other bearings, they are all worn.

Probably just life, these things happen, she's had a tough life since Linda bought her, towing other Surfs around the country and getting abused offroad, etc...

....Perhaps I'm being cynical, but maybe it didn't really have only the 60,000 miles on when it was imported huh?....

                  Lexux V8.

Poor baby looks very sorry for herself, but fortunately everyone else's surf seems to be very well at the moment which means Tony isn't that busy so he can work on my baby (doesn't help the bank balance but hey - my Bullet is more important than eating this month!!!)

                          Update!!!

Stevo came through, ground the crank beautifully, found us a good used conrod, big box of bits turned up yesterday!!

Got the crank installed today, cleaned and de-glazed the bores and got 3 of the pistons in. Stalled now on a lost wrist pin clip that pinged across the garage when I took it apart, need a new one from Toyota now

Looking good though, shame I got so much work on ATM!!!!
