  • Door open warning alarm question

Can anybody help. I know this is probably a standard feature but its doing me fruit in. With the ignition key in and turned to position A (this is so radio still works without warming glow plugs) if you open the drivers door a warning alarm chimes. I think this is to warn you that you have left your keys in the ignition. Can I disconnect this without a graduate qualification in bomb disposal. Can it be done without distrubing the interior light, ignition chime and lights on warning? The truck is a 2.4 diesel on a K plate.

Short answer, as far as I know, NO. Just sit there with your foot holding the door switch closed.

        Door chime

Many thanks for the replies I had taken to wedging bits of card and fag packets against the door switch. Bit expensive in fags if you close your door by accident though. I checked the hilux glove box user manual and is says, " dont wedge cigarrete box between door and door frame as damage to contents of cigarrette box can occur if door is accidently shut." Amazing these jap engineers they think of everything.
