A little advice please

Hi everyone
this is my first time so please go easy.
My Surf is nearly here from Japan and I have been sent a list by the importer ( Algy's autos) for jobs they will do such as cambelt change, service, underseal, tow bar, alarm,... ect. Can someone advise which is important to do and which can wait. Prices don'tseem bad:-

Cambelt- £119.42 + vat
Service - £193.06 + vat (could do this myself)
underseal - £150.00 + vat

Get tonyn to do the service. Seems like a lot of people on here were happy with his work and he's a surf specialist.

underseal yourself!! much cheaper!! fit the towbar yourself as well if you really need one because you will DEFINATELY find a cheaper one to fit than they will. depends on which surf + miles covered as far as cambelt. service yourself is easy if just oil, filters plugs etc. the only thing bit tricky is cambelt (well for me anyway, not for the most on here though...clever gits they are!)

Thanks to everyone for the advice. The trip to Basingstoke might be nice but her indoors wants to go to Malta for hols not Hants.
I still have some time to decide as the boat is not coming till end of the month now.

I'd agree with Gizmo as a minimum...

They should throw in the service as a gesture of good will (you can do the next one ourself)... Make sure all your tyres are in good order too... remember its not that new a truck... see if you can come to an 'arrangement' over those too...

He is from Aberdeen, it'l need another service by the time he gets back home!

Just a thought, are they going to SVA it for you? I would get them to do the minimum and get everything done by someone you trust. I had mine serviced straight after I got it, despite them saying that they had done it. (Not the same people as you are buying from by the way)
