Well, following on from the little skirmish I had with the white van a couple of weeks ago (see this thread) the guys insurance have agreed to cover the cost of the repairs etc. They want me to take it to one of their approved AXA COMMERCIAL repair centres which is good as I just have to drop it off and pick it up when it's done - they even give it a full valet and courtesy car. The interesting bit is the nearest one to me is a VOSPERS repair centre at Victoria near Roche on Goss Moor...should be fun taking a Toyota import into a Ford garage but they said that's what they want to do...just waiting for them to give me a date to take it in...
Second thing that happened was the rear section of the exhaust came off the other day so I took it to my local place (AJM in Camborne - very helpful and good service) to get fixed, they had to order the part in but it arrived the next day and charged just under a ton for parts and labour, which wasn't bad I thought. Anyway when the Surf was up on the ramp noticed that the rear exhaust hanging bracket was all bent out of shape....turns out that when the missus was driving it the other day she had to reverse into a passing place on the lane by our house to let a tractor get passed and managed to nudge the "hedge" (which in cornwall are all stone walls covered in grass!!) She didn't think anything of it and just pulled the large clod of earth out of the end of the exhaust!!! Anyway now that it is her birthday in a few weeks she wants me to fit reversing sensors on the surf - so anybody got any good ideas where I can get some decent reversing sensors from and any tips on fitting..

    Cheers
