  • I need to save a bit!

I did a charity thing at the Land Rover Experience Eastnor yesterday. They gave me a choice of vehicles and I went for the Range Rover, that thing is soooo impressive, it takes all the fun out of off road driving though cos it does everything for you, it even raises the suspension an extra inch if you ground out the belly!

Best of all though, taking a £62,000 car through the mud and mire and not even having to clean it afterwards. A brilliant day!

Still a 3 hour drive back in the Surf made me appreciate what I had, not what I can't have.
Parts of your engine go up, stop then go back! Mm!

    post doesn't read correctly.

    Should be,
Had a great day got to drive a £62,000 Range rover off road, thought I would see what it could do, so found found the nearest hill and rolled it.
    Now thats a great day

I had a go off road on most of the LR range a while back on a dealership day out (my boss was invited and I tagged along) - the V8 range rover I played in certainly was superb and amazingly quiet/smooth, but I gotta agree with you - all that "hill descent control" or whatever gizmos they have just kinda ruins a good off-road session! Where's the fun in a perfectly controlled descent?

Adjustable air-suspension on the surf would be cool though...

Exactly why I'd never want one, I want to drive my truck, not have some computer do it.

my mate had an 03 reg disco and he was all gobby about how great it was... it grounded on low humps and he got all poopy cos the front valence kept catching.

ok for what he bought it for (site visits, fields, flat mud, towing) but anything more than a road hump and it was too low.
