  • My Operation

Just got home after having my Hernia operation this morning. Had a General Anaesthetic and was opened up about 4in to have a gauze patch sewn in to hold my guts in place.

It seems to have gone ok, but it's early days. I have now got about 6 weeks off work. So you might see a bit more of me from now on!!!!

Take it easy mate. For the first week or so after a hernia op it hurts when you laugh. My idiot mate got me some Spike Milligan books to read after my op.

Don't try to drive until the doc says it is OK. It can make your insurance void.

Hi mate. No I haven't seen any more pigeons being taken by the mighty Eagle. But there is a pair of Red Kites flying around, but I think they only go after the dead stuff.

I've been told to lay off the driving for 7-10 days. That's a shame, as the girlfriend and I are going to a country cottage near bath for four days next week. Looks like I will have to be a passenger in her Ford Puma.

I will definitely be getting withdrawl symptoms from driving my truck.

              OH MY GOD

I was wondering why my right upper leg was sore, as the pain is increasing after all the drugs are wearing off. So down go the tracky bottoms. To my horror, they have waxed a big square section of my leg hair off. What the hell is that all about? I now look like a bald shagpile carpet.

You will wish you had never asked. I asked the nurse why I had a bruise on the top of my thigh and one on the end of my old chap. She couldn't stop giggling when she told me. Apparently, to stop it getting in the way of proceedings................the y clamp it to your thigh.

I said you would be sorry you asked. It doesn't matter how fast you say it, the thought still makes your eyes water.

rather that, than the other way they deal with 'things getting in the way' ... ever seen a nurse with a spoon in her top pocket? quick tap with that solves all sorts of problems.... so i heard..
                      it's in me shed, mate.
