4Runner Safety Recall

Just received a letter from Toyota GB by recorded delivery recalling my 12 year old 4Runner to have the steering rod replaced free of charge.
The job's going to take 4 hours and I get to hoon round in a Yaris for the day.
Does any one know exactly what parts get replaced? And why does it take 4 hours?

Its been posted before, do a quick search for the links, toyota will compare your chassis number and let you know. Ours truck where all OK, but Koi's old one needed doing.

Or just ring Toyota UK, they know all about.

I wonder if they have to check and adjust tracking and camber/castor
as mine needs doing anyway - and would be nicer getting done free!
maybe i should insist if i get a recall letter
